About Me

I've been studying Economics continuously for over a decade, the most recent fifth of which has been under the supervision of Eoin McLaughlin, co-supervised by Rachel Forshaw. This time has allowed me to engage with my latent love for history together with my training as an economist, which has been largely based in the applications of microeconomics and econometrics.

My main research provides insights into the nature of development, examining the roles of local and micro institutions in order to test persistent political economy and identify hidden lessons for society today.

Beyond my core research, I am pretty keen on the philosophy of economics from a practical standpoint as it is experienced in everyday life. I particularly enjoy talking to non-economists, and demystifying our brilliant discipline a little bit whenever possible.

Outside of research I (mostly) enjoy exploring the beauty (and brutality) of the Scottish Highlands: below are some pictures from three of my favourite adventures!
